Objectives and Outcomes

The objectives of the Word Cinema Network, to be fulfilled via our activities are:

• To extend and consolidate the Mixed Cinema Network over the UK borders, including countries such as Canada, Japan, Denmark, the US and Australia, as well as several UK institutions.
• To meet the aims of the Leeds strategic map, as regards networking, interdisciplinary approaches, research-led teaching and the production of outputs of international excellence.
• To constitute a strong research environment for the development of world-class theory on Japanese and World Cinema, in particular at the lead institution, the Leeds Centre for World Cinemas, SMLC, and the other two White Rose partners, York and Sheffield.
• To produce distinctive and original pieces of research, as reflected in the outputs described below.
